We have intended to create a new network of streets in Skanste by constructing J. Dikmaņa, J. Daliņa, J. Krūmiņa and Arēnas streets.

 

In all the new streets, it is planned to install water-main, public sewerage, sludge drainage system, heat supply network, low intensity current cables and electric cables. Within the framework of the project, new public sewerage network and sludge drainage system along Skanste street until the access points at 13 Skanste St. will be built and the existing water-main in Skanste St. and Upe St. up to the intersection of Upe St. and Hospitāļu St. will be reconstructed.

It is only now that the development of Skanste area has started, public transport routes to serve the local residents are yet to be built. The nearest available bus and trolley-bus routes are along K. Valdemāra Street and Ganību dambis. „Rīgas satiksme” LLC is planning a new bus route along Skanste Street, to be achieved by transforming the current bus routes. In the future, pursuant to the Riga territorial plan, the tracking of a new tram route is in plans; it is also intended to build a new suburban railway station and a regional bus terminal in the area, as well as a Park & Ride facility at the intersection of Skanste and Zirņu streets.
