Merks recognizes the value of its people. The health and joie de vivre of employees is one of the most important instruments in shaping what can be characterized as a team of integrity. That is why Merks supports the initiatives, activities and endeavours of employees to be active and participate in various sports events.
In 2008, a cycling team was established, comprised of Merks’ employees, which has participated in several competitions – SEB MTB Marathon and Latvian Cycling Union’s Ride, Riga Grand Prix Cycling Marathon as well as in international competition accredited by International Cycling Union ( UCI ).
"Cycling is a fantastic sport. It is an endurance sport, which requires to be in fresh air long time, physical strength and capability. Strenghten of heart is an additional impact.We are ten fellows in the team and it means joy,fun and exchange of ideas in trainings as well as joint strategy,team work and "setted teeth" in competitions".
